3G mobile phones

1G (1st Generation) mobile phones were the original, clunky analogues handsets with no caller ID, huge aerials and a battery life measured in minutes, not hours.

2G mobile phones, also called "digital mobile phones" or GSM phones, started appearing in 1995 and offered better call quality, caller ID, better security and longer battery life. They are still with us today in the form of 2.5G handsets, which are basically the same but have GPRS data capabilities.

3G mobile phones are the future, and they're here today. With advanced features like video calling, mobile broadband speeds and full length music track downloads you can enjoy the internet on the go, check your email in the pub, video-call your partner when you're stuck away from home or even just make a voice call!
